Park City Get Away

Best thing ever - a long weekend get-away in Park City.  Just me and my babe!  Thanks to Kim & Chad, April & Darren for watching our boys.  Thanks to Mom & Dad Burns for the time share.
We went to 3 movies in 3 days, ate yummy food, spent a day at the Amatsu Day Spa (everyone should do that), and enjoyed the Olympic Park Alpine slide and zip lines.
don't know how I feel about this

All things summer

With Michael gone this summer.  I tried to keep the boys busy.  These are just some photos of the random things that happened - you know the pictures that don't really fit into a particular theme - other than Summer!

Basic Training Family Day & Graduation

The day finally arrived.  I had been counting down to August 10th forever (okay well just for 75 days!)
After a brief demonstration of how to take down the
Taliban and colorful smoke grenades - they came running
from the woods through the smoke.

Timon got to Dad first - lots of tears for
both of them; Duncan was busy
hugging the wrong guy -lucky it was
Burnett - Dad's battle buddy
T gets to shoot real "weapons"

This is the most important thing on base -
the mailbox  - from where he sent us all
those letters

South Carolina Trip

South Carolina trip should be typed in BRIGHT RED - that's how hot it was there.  Every single day the heat index took the temperature over 100, usually around 110 or 115.  Crazy hot!  With the cost of airfare - I decided we needed to see a bunch of South Carolina before we saw Michael graduate!  It was fun but I don't recommend August to future vacationers.
We started the trip at Patriot's Point

We took a Ferry out to Ft Sumter where the first shots of the
Civil war were fired.  This is a beautiful huge bridge that
we used 2 to 3 times every day when we were in Charleston

T loved all things civil war era based in the museum including
this original flag

Next we went to the Aquarium which is located on the wharf
in Charleston.  T is trying to be a fish (I think)

Edisto Island Beach is one of the best shell collecting
beaches of the Atlantic

From Myrtle Beach we took a jeep safari trip to see
natural wildlife, slave houses and plantations.
The water behind the two very tired and hot boys is
where alligators live.
American Alligator's eyes popping up out of the water

Part of the safari trip took us to a "haunted
graveyard"  You'll have to ask T the story
of circling Alice's grave and offering a
ring to her to get your wish to come true

D displays lego candy we found up in
North Myrtle Beach

We went looking for a root beer store
that went out of business, but we found
a candy store & Michael called while we
were on the board walk - that made up
for the missing rootbeer (T loves root beer)

We also found a crazy toy store.  D got the
Blue ball you see here & T got a surprise
bubble gum bonker!

Thank Heaven for the Myrtle Beach KOA splashpad & pool
More Beach, not sure if this one is Myrtle, Folley or Edisto

On one of the last night's before we went to Columbia to
see Michael, we stayed on a plantation.  It was beautiful!
